Our Process
About Us > Our Process
1. SITE INSPECTION: Site inspection entails digitally photographing the scene i.e. furniture, electronics, etc. for documentation purposes when dealing with insurance companies / landlords that will aid us to provide the most accurate assessment possible.
2. CONTAINING THE AREA: Seal off contaminated work area in order to control biohazardous agents, and to minimize cross contamination.
3. AREA DISINFECTION: Sometimes the velocity of the weapons that are used in these unfortunate circumstances can cause body parts and fluids to act as a Frisbee moving around corners and up and down stairs. In the case of a human decomposition, the body begins to decay 15 minutes after the heart stops beating. The following two processes ensue: first, the body eliminates its fluids and second, household insects, such as the fly who detect the decomposing body, lay their larva in the mucous membranes (i.e. mouth, eyes, nose) of the body. This, in fact, accelerates the process of decomposition. Should pets be present, they too may come in contact with the bodily fluids causing them to track biohazardous agents throughout the premises. Since Hepatitis B (HBV) can live in dry blood for up to seven days (and in some recorded cases up to two months), we begin our work from the furthest point of the premises and work our way back to the area of interest.
4. ODOUR REMOVAL: One of the most important aspects of our industry is removing the odour that has permeated parts of the physical structure. We begin odour removal by surrounding the scene and starting, once again, with the furthest point and working our way back to the source.
5. DISINFECT, RECOVER, REMOVE AND PACKAGE FOR DISPOSAL, "ALL BIOHAZARDOUS INFECTIOUS MATERIALS" (WHMIS CLASS D, DIVISION 3).
6. WASTE REMOVAL.
7. FINAL ODOUR REMOVAL PROCESS: Now that the source of the odour has been removed we perform a secondary deodorizing process in order to prevent the odour from wicking out and recurring on a hot humid day.
8. FINAL AREA DISINFECTION: Because it is impossible to completely prevent cross contamination we take no chances and perform a secondary disinfection process.
